Guest guest
We also love this show. We've told our families to watch it as well because some of them still fight or don't want to "believe" the diagnosis. We feel like it hits close to home and there are so many parallels for us and find we tend to get a little emotional about this show. We have agreed not to tell our 5 1/2 son...at least yet. From: Debbi <daffymom@...>To: Sent: Sun, February 27, 2011 10:48:08 AMSubject: ( ) Re: TV episode of Parenthood to feature Aspergers I have not watched the show. If you are concerned about your child watching it, I would suggest recording it, watch it, and then determine if you feel it is appropriate for them to watch. On a personal note, my son was not diagnosed until he was 16 1/2. Once he received the dx, watching something where someone is on the spectrum helped him to better understand his quirks are because of a problem, not because he is weird. Currently on the Amazing Race is a young man with Asperger's. Debbi in SO CA > > The show Parenthood, this Tuesday night, will be showing an episode where a child is told he has Aspergers.
