Guest guest
I applied to a couple of private schools, here in NYC for my son.. Though we were making public school work - it wasn't ideal and I knew there had to be a better option out there. There are several schools with contracts with the Board of Ed that handle various special needs but only one or two have a reputation of maintaining the academic rigor that my son is capable of so we put all of eggs in the proverbial single basket and found out yesterday that he is in ... Now we need to go through the Board of Ed process to make sure that they agree with the placement and will indeed pay for the school....Not necessarily an easy feat but at least we have the admissions part done. I told my son (age 8 1/2) and he is normally very blase and hard to excite but he actually jumped in the air and said he way very excited to go there because he liked the teacher and the students .. (they had him sit in on 1/2 a day to make sure he was the right fit). Anyway .. just wanted to share our good news. mom to Max, my 8 1/2 yr old aspie
