Hi everyone!

My name is , and I am looking to have my 17 year old son diagnosed for possible Asperger's Syndrome. He was tested years ago and was diagnosed with a speech and language processing disorder, but I believe they missed the bigger picture. I don't feel comfortable just picking a name out of the phone book, so I was wondering if anyone here could refer me to a good, experienced doctor in Southeast Michigan? I am not happy with our current doctor, so, unfortunately, asking his opinion is not something I feel comfortable doing.

Thanks in advance!

I am in Southeast Michigan, what kind of doctor are you looking for? Pediatrician or psychiatrist? I would recommend contacting the Judson Center for a referral, they deal with a wide range of autism services.

I had no idea what this book had to do with getting over my Aspergers problem. She may have got some money for pushing the book. I was two expensive visits and no usefull information.

We are currently seeing Dr. Cheryl Hack, a developmental pediatrician in Royal

Oak. There are several good ones in the Ann Arbor area, but we haven't been

there. You could contact the people at the Judson Center Autism Connnections or

" Autism Ask " (talk to Harlan) [you can google it] and they should give

you some good recommendations.

,Can you go out of state for the evaluation? If so, Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital has a great program:http://www.uhhospitals.org/tabid/170/Default.aspx Dr. Max Wiznitzer is especially good, and won't drop your son at 18. You can check out his credantials and Bio here:http://www.uhhospitals.org/PatientsandVisitors/PhysicianFinder/PhysicianDetails/tabid/1593/phyID/1490/Default.aspx Cleveland Clinic also has a well respected autism program, but I don't have any personal experience with them:http://my.clevelandclinic.org/Documents/Childrens_Hospital/CCCH_Center_For_Autism_Updated.pdfHope this helps!Hi everyone! My name is , and I am looking to have my 17 year old son diagnosed for possible Asperger's Syndrome.
