Guest guest
It is really hard when they have other issues. My daughter has an orthopedic issue too. Only she acts out at the doctors office too. It is so embarassing I want to hide. I have the same problem with the school not seeing a problem since my daughter is not disruptive in the school. They do not see her isolation as a problem to address with social skills etc. And we are in a private special needs school. I can really relate to your feelings of loneliness. It is lonely to be so isolated and not being able to find people that can relate to our children. It puts so much on us. I will say that since we started a low dose of medication her mood has improved and we had a happier summer. It made such a difference. I wish we lived in the same area so I could invite you to dinner and at least we would be support for each other. Take care of yourself. You are doing a great job with your daughter. It takes time to get these issues addressed. I know. Â You might want to check out the group Autism Treatment. Â They talk a lot about advocacy issues, but they also know a lot about specific resources in specific cities. >
