Guest guest
Hi, I always thought that ABA therapy was for young children, especially preschoolers. My grandson has Aspergers, probably. I say this because he has been diagnosed as a lot of things, PDD-NOS and now they are saying Bi-polar. I have recently becaome a line therapist for ABA (in another state) and I am thinking that my grandson may not be Bi-polar, but just uses his anger and fits to retreat and get left alone. (it works!) I hate all the meds they are trying on him to see what works, however it isn't my choice. I am wondering if anyone knows if ABA can be a free service in upstate NY and if anyone can give me contact information. My grandson goes to special ed, but I don't think they know how to handle him and he is falling through the cracks. Everyone just wants to drug him to make him behave. Is there anyone on here from the Syracuse/Rochester area that can help me with a little information on who to contact. I can only pass this info on, but can't make it be used, but I would like to at least try. Thanks!
