Oshkosh school district officials are waiting for results from tests on the mold found at Sunset Elementary School. The district decided over the weekend to bus nearly 65 kindergarten and first-grade Sunset students to another school for at least two weeks. Oshkosh's American Air Environmental cleaned three rooms Friday after the mold was found. School board members are considering a construction plan that would close Sunset and bus its students to a larger elementary school. The board will review the plan at its Feb. 13 meeting. Most of the mold found at Sunset is common in buildings, said Colleen McDermott, head of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh's biology and microbiology department. " Most of it is not really dangerous -- they are common in the environment, " said McDermott, who specializes in mold's health effects. Schools in Madison, Sheboygan and Sun Prairie also have reported problems with mold this school year.
