In November, writer Walter Jowers of the Nashville Scene newspaper wrote an

article which stirred up some hostile feelings on the sickbuilding page. He

is however a knowledgeable building inspector, and has written a few

articles of possible interest to those with home concerns.

The first, " Want to Buy a New House? Do it now, but get some pros on your

side " deals with buying a new home, what to look out for and how to be

protected to some degree.

Another, titled " Reasons to Worry, Eleven things no homeowner should ignore "

offers more practical tips for current residents

" Home-Buying Basics, Before you dive in, make sure you get repairs done the

right way " gives more advice on buying and selling.

" Water Down Below, Cures and palliatives for wet basement troubles "

gives practical advice on basement water problems, a major source of mold in

homes.

If you can tolerate Mr. Jowers' strange sense of humor, he really has a lot

to offer, and some of his articles really are humorous.
