Guest guest
In November, writer Walter Jowers of the Nashville Scene newspaper wrote an article which stirred up some hostile feelings on the sickbuilding page. He is however a knowledgeable building inspector, and has written a few articles of possible interest to those with home concerns. The first, " Want to Buy a New House? Do it now, but get some pros on your side " deals with buying a new home, what to look out for and how to be protected to some degree. http://archives.nashvillescene.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?story=Back_Issues:2002:Ja\ nuary_17-23_2002:Columns:Helter_Shelter Another, titled " Reasons to Worry, Eleven things no homeowner should ignore " offers more practical tips for current residents http://archives.nashvillescene.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?story=Back_Issues:2001:Ju\ ne_14-20_2001:Columns:Helter_Shelter " Home-Buying Basics, Before you dive in, make sure you get repairs done the right way " gives more advice on buying and selling. http://archives.nashvillescene.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?story=Back_Issues:2001:Ju\ ly_12-18_2001:Columns:Helter_Shelter " Water Down Below, Cures and palliatives for wet basement troubles " http://archives.nashvillescene.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?story=Back_Issues:2001:De\ cember_6-12_2001:Columns:Helter_Shelter gives practical advice on basement water problems, a major source of mold in homes. If you can tolerate Mr. Jowers' strange sense of humor, he really has a lot to offer, and some of his articles really are humorous.
