Thanks, Robin, have a cocktail for me too!

It appears right now that Vocational Rehab may be best shot. Turns out her

previous job was working with Job Corps as Career Transition Specialist and she

kept asking if Job Corps has done so and so and sent DS things like CERTIFICATE

OF COMPLETION! I said, " no, they have done nothing. " So, she knows people to

call there. I also emailed the guy that NOW has her job and asked if he knew

about this stuff? Oh, yeah, they were supposed to have sent stuff to DS like

" employability kit " whatever that is! ARRGH! It is so frustrating and it takes

so long to get VR moving on anything.

I have decided to get son to send a letter to the Assisted Living place where he

had multiple interviews asking for accommodations in taking the test he failed.

In my opinion, this is what the Disability Program Navigator should be

doing...but he's not.

VR person had another great suggestion too. She said many kids with learning

disabilities are accommodated on taking the bar exam for law school by having it

read aloud to them. We learned with driver's test, DS failed three times by

having to take on computer, asked to have it read to him, and he passed.

And, this weekend, a dear friend who is former spec ed teacher worked with him

on interviewing skills and another friend who is an HR director, but also had

daughter with severe disabilities, is going to work with him on interviewing.

AGAIN, stuff, in my opinion, these govt. employees should be doing!

Thanks for the suggestions and moral support! He has an interview Wednesday with

grocery store chain EarthFare, coming into town with new chain. Cross your

fingers for him!

I'll cross all that I have for him and this job. Good luck!!!I just gotta say that I think it's wonderful that you're doing all of this for him. Not that you have the choice to NOT do it,,,,,,but you DO have a choice.

You are choosing to push and work with him and find people to help and complain when people aren't.

You deserve many fine things.............Your son is going to make it someday in a place that is just right for him. And, he'll know that you helped him. That you would have done anything to help him.

It will all be okay some day..............(I think I'm saying this to myself, too....he he)

Hugs to you.
