Guest guest
I haven't read all the posts on this so may be repeating. But some tricks helped my sons with them. -- And I learned these tricks with them, wish that *I* had had them growing up! With the 9's -- remember that the product (answer) adds up to 9: 2x9=18 (8+1=9) 3x9=27 (2+7=9) and so on. (except for 11x9) OR it may help to see it as a pattern. The 2nd digit is counting backwards: 9, 18, 27, 36, 45.... 2nd digits are 9,8,7,6,5.... while the first digits are going up - 1, 2, 3, 4.... With the 6's -- 6 x an even number equals the same digit: 6x2=12 6x4=24 6x6=36 and so on. And sometimes reversing helps. If they can't remember 8x3, they may remember 3x8.... Just some quick thoughts. Might pick up some more looking at a table, patterns to help them think if they are stuck for a moment.
