Guest guest
HI shannon, my daughter starting around 2 woudl wake 5 hours after going to bed, wake-up screaming, running around. Then we startedon melatonin, same problem. Then she started going 3 days straight with no sleep, crash for 3 or 4 hours, and then be up 2 more hours. this went on for 2 years until we had her food allergies tested. Took away, gluten, dairy, eggs, dyes, and in about 3 weeks, she started sleeping 6 hour intervals every night, then it went to 8 with 1 wakening(short) until at 10 -12 hours anight. Yeast was definately an issue, but with the food removal issues and then reintroducing them, then she was up all night. and we knew alot of it was food related... So I totally get it, it is frustrating, and you just want to sleep. So hang in there, give it some thought.... elusive sleep > It's the sleep problem again... Guest guest
Thanks for the input. He's already off gluten (and we're VERY careful), dairy, eggs, and corn. So help me God if I have to eliminate soy. He eats so little as it is. But after I do his OAT this week, I'll look into an elimination diet. Gah. I hate this sometimes. I'm at a loss, and damn it, but we need sleep. At my house, this was caused by yeast overgrowth, phenol issues, and B vitamin deficiency. http://www.danasview.net/yeast.htm http://www.danasview.net/phenol.htm Dana
Guest guest
HI. This was a big issue for us too. And gfcfsf...didn't matter.. the problem was any food that interfered with his serotonin/dopamine. So, bananas, potatoes (fries), tomatoes and chocolate were the big culprits. Melatonin would work for one night and then would actually cause more problems. I would see if your son is a PST kid as well. Hope this helps. > > It's the sleep problem again... Guest guest
Poor sleep for my older son was food allergies. Melatonin didn't work for him, gave him night terrors after a week on it. Eliminating food allergies and helping PST deficiencies helped with sleep. Yeast also increases the phenolic load in the gut which can contribute to lack of sleep.
