Guest guest
Hi I'm kind of new atthis, my son has Oxalic Acid levels and supplementing with calcium citrate is supposed to help. I was wondering if anyone new of any good brands, especially if it comes in a capsule as I have to mix his supps in juice. Also we are doing enzymes as opposed to GFCF due to our custody arrangment - birth mom refuses to follow any protocol. we've seen some improvements with the supplementation we're doing, however I think I may need a stronger enzyme, especially after her weekends (she is the every other weekend and wedenesday night parent and sometimes the weekends seem too long and comes back a mess). Anyy suggestions would be greeatly appreciated - thanks - Avery
Guest guest
Bee, I believe the Natural Factors Calcium Citrate you noted below does in fact contain soy. It says so on the label. I am having a very difficult time finding " legal " cal and mag supplements. I wanted to start w/300 mg each as you recommended, although I do get foot cramps sometimes upon flexing my foot so maybe I need more mag. Chris > > +++Hi . Here's Natural Factors Calcium Citrate at iHerb that does not contain soy: > http://tinyurl.com/q3jt5a > >

That is what I take. If you are able to handle drinking the powder mixed with some water this might be a good choice for you. kelly > > >

NOW has calcium citrate that is free-of soy that is also available at iHerb. +++Yes, you can experiment by adding 100-150 magnesium and see if that helps your foot cramps. Guest guest
Bee, My husband and I have been taking 300mg of Calcium and 300mg of magnesium together and I have been getting calf cramps every night latelyand he has been getting foot cramps regularly. I noticed in your other information that we may need to increase our magnesium, so we added an additional 150mg of magnesium and so far it isn't helping (about a week). Does it take awhile or should we be increasing our magnesium again? Thanks, Suzanne ___________________ > +++Yes, you can experiment by adding 100-150 magnesium and see if that helps your foot cramps. > > Bee >

If you are, and taking additional magnesium didn't help, lower your calcium a little. Minerals require acid (citrate) in order to be absorbed and utilized, and they require all of the other minerals too, which work together. Ensure you are getting all of the other minerals from 2 sources, other than foods: 1) good water that contains its natural minerals (not reverse osmosis, distilled or softened water), and 2) 1 1/2 tsps of ocean sea salt per day. Other factors that can cause problems with minerals are green drinks, chlorophyll, chlorella and similar supplements since they are diuretic which makes the body lose water and also washes out minerals along with it. Many teas are also diuretic and of course coffee. Bee
