Guest guest
Hello We have been over 2 years on the gfcf diet and a custom protocol. I have read repeatedly that at one point we can slowly re-introduce foods that we have withheld and see how he responds. WELL, for the last month I have been doing this. I decided to do this during the summer holidays when he doesn't have school. He has been doing incredible, made no difference with all his gains and did not bring us steps backwards. He is still on his supps and vit's protocol. Has anybody experienced a similar scenario? I am still careful with the quality of foods I give him. It is mostly home made and organic but he is no longer gfcf. I am actually seeing gains at a faster rate now than when he was on the gfcf diet. Will I harm my boy in the long run if I continue to take this route? Or has his gut healed and the heavy metals disposed of in his body that the gfcf diet no longer is a must? Thanks so much for your feedback. Heleni __________________________________________________________________ Canada Toolbar: Search from anywhere on the web, and bookmark your favourite sites. Guest guest
Yes, I have seen this with my own son. He was not GF/CF, but he was on digestive enzymes for a long time. He no longer needs them and has a pretty typical 5 year old diet. Also, the constant bloated belly has now been gone for some time. Congrats! And enjoy some of the new found freedom! > > Hello > We have been over 2 years on the gfcf diet and a custom protocol. Guest guest
Yay! We just did this as well. She was excellent off the diet and then I got confused thinking a bacterial flare up was caused from gluten. I put her back on the diet and then realized it was just bacteria. So, she is off the diet now fully and taking just enzymes. I found something called " Gluten-Zyme " and give her those. She's had no bad reactions at all, nothing. She still doesn't drink milk, but she has regular cheese on pizza and in foods and she is fine. I don't give my NT daughter milk either. We did the diet for a year and a half and I did see a good response at first, but to be honest it faded. Now, like you I am seeing gains much faster, she is happier, eating more foods and getting the nutrients she was missing. I am still trying to cook like it's 1950! But, it's so nice to pop an 'organic' pizza in the oven and have dinner ready in 15 minutes! I am hoping by Christmas and round 65 I can remove enzymes. Congrats! I love not doing the diet! I need to sell off all of my gf flour now! > > Hello > We have been over 2 years on the gfcf diet and a custom protocol. Guest guest
Hi, I am glad you are able to do this. Please keep us updated and be very honest about what happens. My child is very reactive to foods, I think Houston Enzymes will be in our future and hopefully getting off the diet. > > Hello > We have been over 2 years on the gfcf diet and a custom protocol.
