Guest guest
When was not yet 3 years old I bought him a set of thin cardboard letters. The boy is hyperlexic in the extreme and he loved letters and numbers beyond all reason. TALK ABOUT OBSESSION. Anyway, I got him these letters and there was an ampersand. asked me what it was and oddly enough I knew what it was. went around repeating "ampersand, daddy" for who knows how long. It was like he was telling daddy about it but Mark wasn't there. I have a video of it somewhere. I wish I knew where. Ampersand Daddy, Ampersand Daddy, Ampersand Daddy. When he wanted something he didn't just say a word or two but a whole description directly from an advertisement. He wanted the game "Silly Six Pins" so he kept saying, "I want Silly Six Pins. The game that actually talks!" OVER and OVER. He loved that thing. He named the green pin Steve because Steve from Blues Clues liked the color Green. loves green, too.All of this was in the days before we were all that worried about . It was such a happy and beautiful time. Not that we haven't had wonderful times since then, but it was more carefree. We just enjoyed 's favorite things along with him because it was fun to see him happy.MiriamMiriam Mim Mimmom mimbanash@...
