I use a laundry soap called Charlie's Soap, http://www.charliesoap.com/ that will get all the residue out of clothes. I started using it when I used cloth diapers, but we loved it all so much that we still use it. You can find it locally in some places and online. But I'd try the vinegar and/or Borax first if you have either on hand. Borax is usually carried in grocery stores in the laundry section.
