What does your son say? Did you talk to him? I'd personally tell him that this is kinda harrassment as well as nasty, especially since she's his cousin. That, (and maybe this is too much), but, he could be arrested if he was talking like this to someone else.

Does your niece understand his issues?

Do you have a therapist you can call when things just "pop" up?Keep us posted.

Yes...she knows he has trouble...I don't know if she totally understand AS but I explained it to her...she was more concerned for him and getting into trouble ...what a great kid she is and so understanding...says she still loves him. I think he has always had a "crush" on her...when he was 6 or 7 when we went to viist ....he was angry she had a boyfriend...OMG...and he insists he was just joking around...

This is more for the person who son had touched a friends arms/ legs while they were sleeping, there was a guy on here who's son had pulled down a younger girls knickers, he explained to the son that it was ok to be curious about bodies and sexuality, but it was unfair and probably upsetting for the other person to have their privacy invaded in this way.

And he gave his son some age appropriate information and some guidelines on what was appropriate behaviour.

My son is only 6 so I have not came up against this one yet, but I do have medical books and age appropriated educational books so my son is aware of his own body and that women get pregnant etc.

We also have quite a laugh telling him some slang words that his friends might call different parts of the body, but letting him know ones that are appropriate for him to use.

I was like you, Karolina, wondering why my 13 yr old had no idea that there were girls out there.

Then,,,,,,the other day, he let me listen to his DSI. He recorded the date and time of when he had a dream about a girl. he he. It was like he was doing a "captains log" from Star Trek. I joked with him about how he was "likin the ladies" and that I was proud of him for telling me,,,,blah blah blah.

Then, the next day, he told me that he didn't really want a girlfriend, but that he liked being around them and HAS liked it for a year or so!!!

I, again, kept it light and told him how "old" he was getting. He smiled.

I guess my long story is,,,,,,,,he MAY know the ladies are out there,,,,but may not know how to say it to you.

Crickey, perhaps I have a bumpy ride ahead, my boy is 6 and has had the same girlfriend on and off since he started school. They sit together, hold hands and steal kisses off each other and have exchanged some gifts, they have also had times apart, but they get back together. Hopefully this will give him a starting point for those troublesome teenage years. lol

My son who is in 8th grade going to be 14 in Oct. was not interested in girls at all until 6th grade when some of his other guy friends started talking about the girls and who they liked...they would say I am dating this one or that one...but dating meant talking on the phone (LOL). Then in 7th grade he was put in a Special Ed. class and there was this girl who was held back a year ...so she was way to mature and well developed for my son....he had her over twice but all doors had to be open.....but it finally fizzled when she left him at the movie theatre and took off with her friend...He definitely is NOT ready. Some of this stuff comes from his 17 year old friend ...I believe...this boy is a loner too and they get along great...every once in a while they have a fight....but this boy is small...and my son is as tall or taller than him. My son

had been friends with him since he was 8 years old...so I never thought anything about their relationship....except now I wonder if he encouraged and taught and talked about things that my son is NOT ready for.

My son's TSS (therapeutic staff support) came over yesterday. I told him while we were alone about my son and what he said to his cousin. I could hear him say....but it was my Cousin...like she was one of his guy friends or because she is family I can joke like this...that it is okay...I don't think he meant any harm...but he needs to learn the boundaries ....

His mobile therapist is coming tomorrow ...so I will talk to him and have him work on this issue with him.

I think my son got interested in them more because the other kids did and the girls ...omg...it is a soap opera at school....they are so "pushy" and far too advanced. I also think my son is going thru the hormonal stages as his body completely changed.....and I mean completely...he is not my baby anymore...he is almost a "man"....ugh...a "man- child" and that can be scary.

So ...if you son is not interested in girls....be thankful...don't push it....I hate this stage.

Sounds like my son is the same age as yours,,,,,,but his bod is still like a little dude. His mind is just getting into the gals, though. I definitely thing that he'd be too shy to EVER talk to one in a "girlfriend/boyfriend" way, though.

LOL. Thanks all, So glad it's not just me going through this. My 12 year old

really likes a girl at his old school, and talks about her all the time. He does

know that there are statements that are not exceptable. But he does not always

think.

We did already kinda have the sex talk, and I was STUNNED by how much he already

knows. He actually told me that you make funny sounds and immitated them. I

almost died! I really didn't explain the mechanics of sex, but what I told him

was that sex = babies and babies = full time job and community college, and that

he would not be going to UCS or where he wants to go if he has a baby because I

am not raising his kids.

Right now Lucas wants to be a marine, and then become an NCIS officer and then

he wants to get married and have 20 babies. I told him good luck with that one.

Thanks for making me feel better about this whole puberty thing...it really

stinks. We will get through it right?

I was stunned when my son came out of his room and yelled " MOMMY I HAVE HAIR

DOWN THERE!! " and then like a couple of weeks later, I walk into my room, the

door had been shut, and he is laying on my bed looking down, and I asked what

are you doing? He was counting the hairs! I told him to do that in the bathroom

or his own room. I was quite embarressed.

I know I know...prepare youself ...cause you're little baby boy...little boy ...little child will one day ...no longer be a child...and this all happened over the summer....he grew about 3 or 4 inches...ate like a horse....slept a lot....has hairy, hairy legs and underarms....big feet...hides his body (no more nakey boy running down the hall)(sort of glad...) his voice is changing, he is a little more mature....but then he falls back into the little boy mode...scared...he actually told me he doesn't want to grow up...he is afraid...wow..he actually thinks about it...I don't think I ever did. I think girls push themselves onto the boys....cause I don't think my son would go up to a girl and ask her out...he won't go to dances...this is all scarey ...and I mean scarey and I keep praying....he has made inappropriate remarks...etc...he just doesn't get

it...and when he was texting his cousin ...he thought it was ok cause she is "his" cousin...no big deal. OMG...I said you NeVER ever speak to girls any girls like that...OMG....will we survive...not too sure sometimes...but I know I always have you guys to fall back on...and everyone picks me back up and pushes me back into the ring...thanks guys.

Ugh, I hear ya. Lucas grew a ton this year. He just hit 5ft2...which might not

sound tall to some, but he is the same height as me now, and has bigger feet.

His voice is changing and he is getting darker hair on his upper lip..talk about

an OMG moment! I think my way to get through it is to pray pray pray. I had

someone tell me once that puberty would be easy with my son since he has AS..not

going to have same issues. What a dork! We have the same issues and then some.

Anyone know any good books out there for autisic boys in puberty? Life is never

boring, and we are going to look back on this time and just shake our heads and

laugh. They do get past it. I think one thing that helps me when I am looking at

the wacky way things are going, is to remember that my Grandad has AS and look

at how awesome he turned out. It helps. Thx for all the support we all get here!

over the summer....he grew about 3 or 4 inches...ate like a horse....slept a

lot....has hairy, hairy legs and underarms....big feet...hides his body  (no

more nakey boy running down the hall)(sort of glad...) his voice is changing, he

is a little more mature....but then he falls back into the little boy

mode...scared...he actually told me he doesn't want to grow up...he is

afraid...wow..he actually thinks about it...I don't think I ever did.  I think

girls push themselves onto the boys....cause I don't think my son would go up to

a girl and ask her out...he won't go to dances...this is all scarey ...and I

mean scarey and I keep praying....he has made inappropriate remarks...etc...he

just doesn't get it...and when he was texting his cousin ...he thought it was ok

cause she is " his " cousin...no big

that...OMG....will we survive...not too sure sometimes...but I know I always

have you guys to fall back on...and everyone picks me back up and pushes me back
