Guest guest
More mold found in Madison elementary school (Published Wednesday, January 16, 2002 9:02:10 AM CST) Associated Press MADISON, Wis. -- Workers found mold in two additional rooms at an elementary school closed since November because of the problem. School district officials said Tuesday the two rooms are small, and cleaning them should not affect the reconstruction plan for Chavez Elementary School. The school opened in August and closed Nov. 28 after mold was found in a third of its rooms. Staff members and students had complained of persistent upper-respiratory problems. Students are getting bused to other schools. District officials don't know when they can reopen the school because they are awaiting an engineer's report on the mold's cause before starting to rebuild parts of the interior. Workers found the mold in a storeroom and a computer room last week after a carpenter who worked at the site during construction remembered seeing mold there, said Doug Pearson, the district's building services director. http://www.gazetteextra.com/chavez011602.html
