Guest guest
Can I just say that all of you who are *allowed* to e-mail your teachers, you sure are lucky. Our teachers don't have school e-mail, but I do have my daughter's teacher's home e-mail as she was a customer of mine in the past. I e-mailed her about a situation regarding the upcoming IRPC because communication through the school was a little tricky. The principal was putting up some roadblocks and I was trying to warn her. She e-mailed back with feedback and then commented to keep the e-mail private because her *union* does not allow teachers to communicate with parents vial e-mail. The politics of unions is a big reason why I didn't go into teaching as I had planned. This one takes the cake. The province keeps telling parents to be involved, and then when they are there's somebody else trying to push them back out. ~Cheryl S. Guest guest
Are you in Canada? Is this across the country or is it specific from town to town? Have you talked to the school board about this issue? Guest guest
I am so sorry you are having problems. My older son has Asperger's and so far we have been blessed with his teachers and prinicpal. He is in kindergarten. We had problems with getting his accomodations in place and even was kicked out of a private daycare (YMCA). He has been suspended because of some behaviors (district policy)-- hiting and biting. But they are still working with us and trying to find what works best with him and we are so grateful. I hope next year is better for you. I am also a HS teacher, so I know there are some teachers who happily accomodate and some that don't.... -brenda > > Hi. I email my dau s teacher, principal, and social worker. Her teacher is notorius for not being consistant w/ her accomodations... I just talked w/ the superintendent. The change when i mentioned attorney . Her teacher got the accomodations back in play w/in the hour. Counting the days till summer vaca and homeschool. :-) >
