Guest guest
I do not post often at all, but I am always reading. Just a quick thanks to everyone on the board for always sharing their stories, concerns, fears, etc with us all. It really does help knowing I am not alone. Now to share our news with people who will actually understand why it is we are so excited. Our 10 year old son has FINALLY taken off his training wheels!!! Yes he's still quite wobbly and doesn't always look where he's going, but he's doing it! I really wasn't sure this day would ever come, my husband still can't believe it. Today I took him to an empty school playground just ride around with no distractions and the smile on his face as he rode, not knowing I was watching, just made my day. He really never had any interest in doing it but I was always trying to push the subject. Finally we promised to buy him a rather expensive Godzilla figure he really wanted once he learned to ride without training wheels. We'll it didn't exactly light a fire, but it seems to have worked. And much to my surprise he actually wants to continue to ride even though he has his figure. Now my only fear is the kids at school will laugh if he tells them when the teacher asks what everyone did over the summer. Thanks for letting me share!
