Guest guest
Hi, We're in North Fond du Lac but I have a friend with a few kids on the spectrum in Ashwabenon, so if you don't mind, I'll pass your email on to her. It really is simple. Just treat others kindly and with respect. Guest guest
Hi , I am in Wisconsin about an hour away from Green Bay. Wisconsin has a wonderful Birth to Three program which will evaluate children for free. If delays are found they provide services (also for free regardless of income and often in your home) until the age of three. I would highly recommend that you start there. I have attached the link to the Brown County department of Human Services Birth to Three program. http://www.co.brown.wi.us/departments/page_03caef5579fc/?department=dd09bd30c78e\ & subdepartment=80ece04f3290 There is a contact number there where you can get answers. I am not really familiar with the hospitals in the Green Bay area but if you have insurance that covers it Childrens Hospital in Milwaukee has a great center called the Child Developement Center where they will do evaluations and treatment for young children. They also have a great Childrens Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Department. If you have any other questions please feel free to email me directly at baneline1@... To answer your first question I don't know if you will find someone to diagnose your daughter at age 2 with Aspergers but if you think that there are delays or other problems now is the time to look for help. Early intervention is really important. That is the purpose of the Birth to three program. My daughter (who does not appear to have any Autism) was evaluated at 2 years 9 months and started in an early childhood program through our school district has become a changed child since then. She is now 5 and doing wonderful. My Aspergers son is 11 and we did not find out he had any problems until he was five. So take advantage of the program that Wisconsin has and get her evaluated. It certainly can't hurt anything. Vickie > > one more question, is there any support groups or programs in green bay, wi.? >
Guest guest
You can take her to an occupational therapist and work on motor skill issues if she has any. Some OTs are very helpful in helping you problem solve sensory issues. Why do you think she has AS? What kind of issues does she have and what are you having problems with?
