Here's a link to a survey some might find interesting. Parents rated whether different interventions helped or not eg medications, diet, supplements. Mirandahttp://www.autism.com/fam_ratingsbehaviorasperger.asp

These were all to do with behaviour.

I noticed that the drugs tended to make approx a third worse, a third had no

difference, third improved.

Supplements and diet didn't make many worse, but was split between no difference

and helped. So really is trial and error to see what helps with individuals.

Wow did you see the stats on the gluten free casein free diet? That amazes me

even though I know it's a great treatment option!!

I'm very curious about the biochemistry thought to be involved (biochemistry and

genetics were a special interest a while back). Certainly, I've found Magnesium

and B6 help my muscles relax when all tense (from food sensitivities). Think my

B12 might be low too (just had blood test as symptoms of anaemia). My son and I

have many food sensitivities - wouldn't be surprised if deficient in certain

enzymes (also involved in detoxification).

Having been a guinea pig for various drugs over the years (for depression mainly

and with many very bad effects), my husband and I are adamant that we don't want

to use drugs if at all possible on our son. Diet seems to help us fucntion

better and also some supplements.
