Guest guest
My son is very different at home than at school. At home, he acts out more. All the anxiety his holds in at school comes out at home where he acts out and gets angry. He is exhausted at the end of the day that he doesn't even want to talk to us. He comes in and goes straight to his room and chills out. He doesn't do any school work at home....he says 8 hours in school is enough...he is too spent! His grades are high 70s and 80's. He could do better if he applied himself...but it becomes too much. So, I am happy with the grades he gets. Plus, I am even happier that he is maturing and becoming a young adult. He has a few good friends and is growing in new ways. I had the school agree to allow his kindergarten teacher and then this year his first grade teacher come to our home before school began so they could see who he really is..and then they could possible then understand the anxiety and social issues they will see in class and be more understanding. And that did help a bit.Suzanne7 yr old Son/Aspergers/ sensory/anxiety/ feeding issues23 mo boy/girl twins-girl has Silver Syndrome(rare form of dwarfism)>> Does anyone else have the experience that their child is so much more "in-tune" with their surroundings when they are at home and with family members, but then are completely different kids when interacting with other people? Is it anxiety? At first I thought it was just in large groups or busy places, but now I see it's happening even in very familiar places with just a few kids.> > Thanks,> Debbie> Mom to , age 5.>
