Guest guest
GSE is pretty strong. You could try Biotin, Oil of Oregano, Candex or candidase first and see how she does with that. My Dd really has a hard time with GSE.

I gave her a feed about 1 hour after the treatment. She is fed by NG tube and this came out when she vomited. I want to ask if I gave her too much, and perhaps should have gave half a capsule instead. She does not normally take enzymes - I bought the No-Phenol for the yeast. If I give her activated charcoal, when would I give it, before her feed? Timing it so it does not soak up the enzymes or her feed might be a problem. Obviously I do not want her to vomit her next tube out, as they are difficult to put it at the moment and we may need to go to the hospital to replace it (didn't used to be a problem), so any advice would be appreciated. I would give it a day or two once you get her new NG in place, give her belly a break. Then I would try a new yeast protocol. Do not use GSE. Sounds like she could be allergic to the citrus family and or phenols????? What probiotic are you using? .. My son cannot tolerate GSE or probiotics. We use GI pro health probiotic. www.giprohealth.com not as strong, but has no allegens at all in it. It is what we have to use here. My son cannot tolerated corn either. You have to get this on line. Also, is that an NG tube or a PEG tube??? Is she eating anything by mouth? Would you be using enzymes for die off??? You can also use Biotin from a health food store as a probiotic. For yeast control, you can try Oil of oregeno. It does come alchohol free by " natures answer " . Your probiotic and yeast protocol have to be given two hours apart. I like giving our probiotic here, at bedtime. Anchors into the belly overnight. No food messing with it. I give OLE or oil of oregeno at lunch time. She sounds like she has a very sensitive system. So I would go slow. Also, the activitated charcoal should be given 2 hours away from food or supplements. Mix it in about 10ml of water and flush it down her tube, and be sure to flush afterwards as you already know. I would not use activated charcoal on her personally..... If you are not using the GSE for yeast, the only reason would be to absorb " die off " .. also for an infraction we use Charoal here at our house with ca mag liquid, then an epsom salt bath. Are you doing epsom salt bathes????? Also, would hold off on that no phenol. There may be a better enzyme out there for her. Not sure if her feeds require an enzyme or not, or if you were wanting to do if for " die off??? Alot of us also belong to this board. www.gfcgkids@... have you checked it out? Danas site is very informative as well, if you have not already looked . www.danasview.com Good luck to you, and I hope she feels better.. BTW yeast treatments and probiotics always cause her to vomit, though Nystatin does nothing for her either way. She had an OAT which came back high yeast and bacterial overgrowth. Give GSE with food, it is very bitter and can be hard on an empty stomach. Start with one drop, and 1/4 to 1/2 capsule No-Fenol. >>If I give her activated charcoal, when would I give > it, before her feed? About 30-45 minutes after the GSE. >>Obviously I do not want her to vomit > her next tube out, as they are difficult to put it at the moment and > we may need to go to the hospital to replace it Try giving biotin instead, see if that works better.
