Guest guest
According to Dr. -McBride when she spoke at the WAPF conference, she advises all breastfeeding women to sprinkle a capsule of Bio kult over their nipples before the baby latches on, so I assume that means they are safe for infants! Obviously the dosage is different, and a little sprinkling is probably all that’s necessary, so long as the breastfeeding mother is getting a good amount of probiotics herself. In my experience as both a mother and a traditional naturopath, many infants stop reacting to dairy when both mother and baby are getting enough probiotics. The truth is, most of us mothers have an imbalance ourselves and pass this on to our babies. Guest guest
Hi, What about taking biokult at the large doses listed on the website when you're a nursing mother? Does the die off affect the child in a negative way? I'd like to take biokult and give it to my toddler who nurses a good amount. Thoughts? Guest guest
My guess is this is why Dr. C-McB suggests taking the biokult in small amounts at first before increasing, so that the die off does not cause discomforting symptoms such as diarrhea or headaches. By the time one is taking the larger doses of the biokult as recommended, one is “ready” for it. That said, I can’t remember who posted it, but someone suggested earlier that if you are experiencing symptoms of toxicity as mentioned above, you should go back to “stage 1” eating and smaller doses of the biokult and then slowly test things out again. This is particularly true of nursing mothers, especially if the nursing child is also exhibiting symptoms of toxicity.
