Guest guest
Hello Everyone, I am new to this list. My son was diagnosed Asperger's last month. He is eight years old. It has been quite a journey. I feel relieved to know what I have suspected for a long time, but there is also a certain heaviness that comes with the diagnosis. I am curious if anyone is familiar with any articles/research about how cell phones, towers, and wi-fi might affect these sensitive kids. We live very near to a cell tower and I wonder how this could have possibly effected my son in utero or even now if it causes some level of " interference " in his mind. Just wondering if anyone else has considered this or read anything about it. Thanks! Jessie

Guest guest
Jessie I wouldn't worry about this. There are many ingested posions such as lead or alcohal that can cause brain changes but not comunication systems. I have read that autism and many of the anxiety and mood disorders are caused by a combination of genetic factors not just one gene. I have also read that kids and adults do better in settings that are not so busy so if your community has cell towers but is not a crowded area it may help your son to have lower stimulation with noise and visual things. Many kids with autism (Asperger included) have a slow procesing speed so that they feel there is too much going on. This accounts for why some of them get so overwhelmed. Keeping life structured and low key goes a long way. Pam > > Hello Everyone, > > I am new to this list. My son was diagnosed Asperger's last month. He is eight years old. It has been quite a journey.
