Hello,

Can anyone recommend to me where to start to learn more about how to heal Leaky Gut esp in relation to Rheumatoid Arthritis which I have ? told me about the GAPS book which I'd like to order - is that a good place to start ? I kinda thought I knew a bit about LG until I got onto this group and saw all the different posts.

By the way, does anyone have any feedback on Transfer Factor for LG ? It's supposed to heal the gut even while one damages it with daily use of NSAIDS.

Thanks for your help...

best wishes,

~Leonieleoniecent@...

I can’t really

help you but you should check out this blog: http://scdgirl.blogspot.com/

She has RA and probably has some

valuable information in her blog about her journey and how it’s helping

her. Good luck.

RA is an inflammation. Anytime you have an inflammation, it is the body's way of cleaning house -- or attempting to. The body needs to detoxify. If you don't have enough good bacteria in your gut, the body can't detoxify properly. When you increase probiotics, the body will detoxify (that is one of the jobs of the good bacteria). Epsom salt baths (sweating) and drinking freshly juiced vegetable and fruit juice will help the body detox faster. Drinking broth helps heal the lining of the gut which creates a better environment for the good guys. You also have to avoid sugar, starches, white bread, etc. because those things feed the bad guys (yeast). You also want to avoid eating things that are not easily digestible (potential allergens, grains, nuts, seeds, etc.) You want to do everything you can to make your gut hospitable to the good guys and give them as little work as possible so they can focus on job 1: healing your gut and detoxifying your body.I had osteo-arthritis when I was in my 20s and reversed it by taking therapeutic grade probiotics and went on an elimination diet. The other thing that really helps RA is cod liver oil (also part of the GAPS protocol):http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/health/healthmain.html?in_article_id=543968 & in_page_id=1774http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2004/02/25/cod-liver-oil-arthritis.aspxAnn MarieOn May 11, 2008, at 5:48 AM, leonie cent wrote:Hello, Can anyone recommend to me where to start to learn more about how to heal Leaky Gut esp in relation to Rheumatoid Arthritis which I have ? told me about the GAPS book which I'd like to order - is that a good place to start ?
