Right, just stay in contact for now and see if there are any changes in his behavior. And if you do make any comments, phrase it in the form of a compliment, like "He's doing great since he got glasses. Does his doctor say he's happy with his progress?" Then you can get an idea if other people are evaluating your nephew as well, and have a chance of identifying any problems. You just have to tiptoe carefully around people who are so defensive.

Perhaps we should wait a while then. His mom did not speak to us for more than a year after she had issues with my cousin(not related to her). Her husband had to come to all the family get togethers by himself with the 2 boys. So I expect that she would also not appreciate us suggesting the "A" word. I just thought that I would have appreciated someone making me aware of the possibility of autism with my son. But people differ. So it will probably be wise to see if the suggestions do not perhaps come from another source.Thanks for your comments.> > >> > > Hi guys> > >
