Guest guest
I need to call the school Monday and set up the child study as well as setting up with my daughters case worker for her to do the Psych-Ed Evals. I am trying to equip myself with as much knowledge as I can so that I can share it with my husband so that we can help her. Are there any things (food, charts, schedules etc) that you find really helped at home with him? Theresa ( ) Re: New member to this group Hi Theresa, Just recalling when my son (now almost 21) was evaluated around that age, the paperwork they sent me to fill out had questions/observations going all the way back to birth; so I had to pull out the " baby book " to recall some information (e.g., how old was he when... for milestones, etc.). Also there was a section for me to just write stuff, and I covered the things I noted when he was younger there too, even though he had improved in some of those areas by his present age. They also interviewed me too, so wasn't all just what I had written that was covered. If you haven't read much about Aspergers or just autism, I would start reading and note anything you see that applies to your daughter - even if just in a mild way - so that you can make sure to note these in the paperwork/interview; just saying that if you don't know much yet about Aspergers, you may not yet realize that some things you know about her are a trait of this. (hope that made sense) One place to start: http://www.udel.edu/bkirby/asperger/ Just some quick thoughts, > > Hi, my name is Theresa and I am a SAHM of two children. Guest guest
Yea, some goofs are like that... then some goofs need constant tickles... its weird. Maybe I should develop a way of tickling goofs without tickling goofs... I have found some luck in messing up their hair :-p (goofy kids are not allowed to have nice neat hair you know ) lol From: nicole.obrien@...Date: Sun, 10 Jan 2010 12:37:38 -0330Subject: RE: ( ) Re: New member to this group Interesting you should suggest this, as my Aspie HATES tickles, finds them painful, and has never enjoyed them LOL =) From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of fnofsportsSent: Saturday, January 09, 2010 11:39 PM Subject: ( ) Re: New member to this group First and most importnat advice... goofy kids (which I am sure she is) need constant tickles... :-p. Guest guest
Mine hates them.......unless he initiates. That's the way he's always been with any touches. Unless he comes for them or gives them......it's uncomfortable. We sure are all unique, aren't we?
