Try Merrills or New Balance. They both have slip on moccasin shoe styles. For

PE, my son wears sneakers but we put yankz shoelace ties in them so he doesn't

have to worry about tying them.

Although my son did learn how to tie shoes it would take him so long to tie them

that he always wanted shoes without ties. It was a hassle looking for shoes,

especially sneakers, without ties once he reached adult sizes. The yankz system

eliminated a lot of hassle.

Hmmm....never noticed it when he was younger. Are there any such shoes that

would have a low enough heel that he wouldn't have to worry about that?

My 12-yr

old daughter is still trying to master the skill of tying her shoes as well J I got her the shoelaces that are elastic and squiggly. Good for

girls, but maybe not so much for your son! Slip-ons are great. My daughter was

worried about still looking kool and didn’t want Velcro, so we found that

Vans shoes are perfect for her. Luckily there’s an outlet nearby, but you

can also get a variety of kool and hip patterns online under their clearance

section!

suggestion for shoes

My son (12) walks on top of the backs of the heels of

his shoes, so the heel back of the shoe is always squashed down. Maybe this is

toe walking. Hmmm....never noticed it when he was younger. Are there any such

shoes that would have a low enough heel that he wouldn't have to worry about

that?

He also cannot get the hang of tying his shoes yet, so they'd need to be velcro

or slip ons.

I also need something appropriate for PE, as he would like to not change his

shoe for PE. However, if that's necessary, he could get used to it.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Merrils makes a shoe that is a slip on and works for PE too.

My son, 12yo, cannot tie either and he has worn these for years.

This year hw wanted " skater " sneaks, thankfully it's cool to not tie thoses and

tuck the laces in

I'm looking at Merrels. Do you happen to remember the name of the shoe? I'm

not sure what you're referring to. I'll be on again this evening to look for

them. Thanks!

Leah,

I don't see them on the Merrils site either. Here is a link to Lands End they

have a slip on sneak

Also, Sketches have them too Here is an AMazon link, with a good price. Also,

go to Sketchers.com. My son has worn them too for the past few years.
