Guest guest
Hi Ebony! Pretty name! Not sure where you are in the process but you will want to contact your local school system and request a full educational evaluation for special ed services. Call the director of student services or the principal at your local elementary school. Let them know he has been dx'd with HFA. After they do their eval's, if he qualifies, he will get an "IEP" (individual education program). Then he can start to get therapies and help in pre-k. If you need to learn more about special education rules, you can find out at www.wrightslaw.com If you have any questions, just ask! Tons of parents are here with great experience, probably better than any book you'll find. <g> I have 2 kids with HFA - one is now 21 yo and the other is 13 yo. Welcome!
