My son had asked me to email all his teachers as to what type of notebooks they

wanted him to have. He was stressing out....well, today I got two replies....

His Reading teacher told me how great he was doing and that these first

two days have gone well....she said " What a nice boy " .....and that the other

teachers have made nice comments too! I think I will print out this email and

frame it....wow....it is so nice to hear something Positive for a change....

I can tell he is trying in school and that is why he gets tired....but for now I

am flying high....hope it lasts.

Well this is what they came up with...my son stays till the end of the day...2:30...then he goes downstairs and works on his math with a teacher assistant...(although he said he didn't need help)...then at 3:00 they walk over to the intermediate school and he gets the smaller bus there (he is with his old driver-Jim). He has not complained ....and hopefully he will get all his math homework done before he comes home. The only thing that bothers me is that the bus picks him up at 6:15 a.m.....the regular bus stop in front of our house at 6:40-6:45....that is a 30 min. difference...they don't allow the kids off the buses until 7:10 and school starts at 7:22. This makes for a very long day. He is exhausted when he comes home and hungry as he hasn't eaten once in school. He says he is not hungry.

I am pulling back...stepping back....I am trying to not bug him...make him more responsible...we'll see...my husband doesn't think this is a good idea...but I can not keep up like I did last year....they either need to work more with my son during the day or give him less homework...I refuse to battle with him ....I told my son that I will help him with anything he needs but I am not doing his work ...he needs to write it down and do it.

Thanks for asking....
