Guest guest
Researchers at the University of Virginia are interested in hearing from parents of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), between the ages of 15-25, regarding the process of teaching their child to drive. We would appreciate input from parents who are: currently in the process of teaching their child to drive, OR have attempted to teach their child to drive in the past, OR successfully assisted their child to secure a driver's license. The information we receive from the survey may be used to inform future research aimed at developing support for individuals with ASD who are learning to drive. If you are interested in contributing to our project, please click on the survey link below. The survey is anonymous and will take 15-20 minutes to complete. https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/BGZWSRJ
Guest guest
We are going to face this very issue in about 5 months. He is a twin and I have been prepping them (really my as son) that just because they're 16 doesn't necessarily mean they will drive or drive at the same time. I just can't see my AS son being mature, focused or responsible enough in the next 5 months. Between this and dating relationships I think I have a few more grey hairs from the stress!! Would love to hear how others have dealt with these issues.
