I know exactly what you mean. My boyfriend complimented me on how patient I was

with my son the other night, even though he was being mean and hard to get along

with. He said God chose me for a reason as most people could not be that

patient. While the compliment felt good, it also made me feel like the worst,

most abusive parent in the world when I was in his face screaming at him the

next day!! I get to a point where I can no longer take the disrespect!! I get

sick of having to be so patient and get angry that other parents have it so

easy. I can't ever imagine needed patients for my boyfriends son...he is the

easiest child ever!! I do not imagine his parents have a clue how easy they

have it (although I am sure my boyfriend does)...or at least appreciate it (then

again, I may just not feel that way)!!

Yes I was extremely stressed when my daughter was younger

and I had few breaks. If I focus my life solely as being her

aide in the evening and weekends and also keep the house

managed (laudry etc) it is a very lonely life although less

stressful. These kids want so much predictability but there

is no way to sustain that level at home. Life would be

too restricted for everyone else.

I have no idea how parents with other children and those that work

can cope.

I think in retrospect over the last 13 years the most valuable

therapy or treatment was from the behaviorist. You realize

from them the answer is not more punishment, arguing

or fighting. It is often in structure and shaping.

I also think medication was critical to helping reduce

stress that rippled through the family.

And lastly the behaviorist helped me realize that we were

just doing too much and expecting too much compliance.

It is hard to finally realize your child just can't

keep up and stay emotionally regulated (even with medication).

Take care of yourself, please.

Hi ,

A lot of times when you are treating Lyme you are looking for areaction..any

reaction. You could feel better or much worse. The fact that you " crashed " (would

like to know more specifics) is an indicator that something is happening,

Perhaps a die off and the processing of the toxins which actually makes your

symptoms worse before they get better(herxing). The real time war with Lyme is

an up and down process. When I have changed my meds in the past I became happy

when I got worse as I new that I was about to get another level up on  my

healing. Normally ,after this process, stamina, cognitive issues and more would

improve and I would look for the next round that would cause a reaction to

improve again.

Have faith and persistence as a better you is ahead.

how to start?? I have been watching the messages here for about 3 months, all

have helped, thanks

My story is, I have had lyme for 30 years or so. the sad part is I didn't know I

had lyme and so my 2 kids also have it. they are 18 and 25. I diagnosed myself

12 years ago, just couldnt get a doc to agree with me until 2 years ago.

My daughter has had many neck problems, i empathize with the others who have

posted about this subject. the muscles in her neck pulled so hard to one side

that it litterally dislocated her heck bones. She has severe joint pain when off

of antibiotics. she is a performance violin major in college and this causes

alot of problems if we don't keep her on antibioitcs.recently the muscles in her

jaw tightened and she had severe jaw pain. it is always something.

my son, has the severe fatigue and pain, but refuses to admit he has lyme, even

though he tested positive.

As for me, wow, it has been a life of mostly pain and fatigue. I get so that I

just want to go to my heavenly home. I know I can post that here, because you

all understand. after 30 years of fighting this I am so tired. I have been on

antibiotics for 2 years, and started the protocol 6 weeks ago. I am slso on

doxy.

so here is my question, sorry it took me so long to get to it!

I have totally crashed again. could it be herxing or do I need to up the

antibiotics? I am on doxy 800 mg a day. and the core protocal of Buhners. I am

taking 2 of all the herbs 3 times a day. also teasel and stephania. I would love

to get off the antibiotics, however I feel so much better when I am taking 3

different kinds. I am having a hard time seeing that the herbs are working so I

guess I just need to hear that either I need to give it time, or any other

suggestions would be great. I question whether I need to do some detoxing?????

I am self treating at this point, my husband hasn't been working and my llmd is

very expensive and didn't know anything about herbs. so my local doc is trying

to work with me, but it is hard when he doesn't believe late stage lyme exists.

so you all are my final hope to help, sorry to put so much on you, but I really

could use some advise.

one last ? do you think it really matters where you get the herbs from?

thanks so much for all of your other posts, I have been encouraged by you. may

we all beat this bug!!!!!

One little thing that may help your daughter is to adjust the way she

is holding the violin. Traditional methods force us players to really

tweak the left arm, clamp down with the left jaw and raise the left

shoulder. If you imagine doing this for awhile without the violin you

can see the stress quite vividly. I have greatly improved my problems

and encountered much more ease with playing and a much better tone by

learning the New Approach method by Kato Havas. There is a lot to say

about all this as it's a whole mental, physical, emotional shift but

in general, neck problems come with the territory, even without Lyme,

so it is helpful to at least understand how to ease tensions and

position the violin and bow with an analysis of the balances rather

than by clutching. Maybe she could check it out or go to a summer

program...

Jeff I understand what you are saying, but I sure would prefer a good reaction

not this fatigue that drains me to the core. other symptoms are joint pain in

my elbow, ankle and hips. My knees feel so stiff and swollen however they don't

look swollen. the normal brain fog, I feel like every organ inside of me is

inflamed and I have a hard time breathing. Have had alot of sweats and chills

also. Through the years I have noticed that my immune sysytem is in overdrive.

I actually feel so much better if someone is sick around me, I never get sick.

over the summer I did really well, the first time in 20 years. I was taking 3

different antibiotics. then they wore off and quit working, and I have been

like I am now since october with the exception of a few days while my husband

was sick. I keep thinking that someday something will work for me, but it seems

that in time all things stop working. I realize I haven't been on this protocal

long enough to tell much, but hopefully what you are saying is correct and time

will show better results.

I would love to hear if you or anyone else has anymore suggestions.

I am adding Flagyl to the doxy to see if I can get so i can function somewhat.

I follow this group although not this protocol at the moment. I think 6 weeks

is a very short time to ramp up to the dosage you mention. You might have given

yourself a massive herx.

I also follow the salt/c protocol and often read of people ramping up too

quickly (there is a very specific recommendation for building up) and feeling

like they are dying.

You might consider backing off or even giving yourself a break for a few days.

Make sure you are detoxing with binders like activated charcoal, apple pectin,

chlorella (taken away from supplements as these will pull them from the body)

and/or epsom salt baths FIR sauna, aerobic exercise even if just a short walk,

etc. Eating/drinking to alkalinize the body (water with lemon juice, 1/2 t

baking soda in a glass of water, or Alka Seltzer Gold) will also help.
