Need San Diego Dr recommendations!!!!

Hi,

We live in San Diego (East County - but will travel!) and we are having the most

difficult time finding good Drs. that are familiar with ASD kids. If you live in

the area - Please share with me who you've found for your child. If you prefer

to e-mail me privately that is absolutely fine! SoCalVal@...

We are looking for a Therapist, Psychiatrist, Neurologist, Social Skills group

(for 7 yr olds) and even a Pediatrician!

Val, you might also see if you can find some local aspergers or autism groups on groups and sometimes they can help as well

Hi Val,

Have you tried finding providers through your local chapter of the Autism

Society: http://www.sd-autism.org/? You might be able to get personal

recommendations through other parents in your area or a parent advocate there.

Another thought that I had was the service provider directory at the Sensory

Processing Disorder Foundation:

http://www.spdfoundation.net/directory/index.html. Or what about talking to

someone at a free parent advocacy group for special needs kids in your area?

They probably have a good network and know which therapists are decent - and who

is not!

Hi Val,

I am in S.D.-East County too. My daughter is 12 and we have taken her to see Dr. Harvey Reich, Children's Primary Care, 860 Jamacha Rd #203, El Cajon (619) 442-0945. He has been wonderful with . He is knowledgable about learning disabilities and Asp. He has worked with us to get my daughter on the right meds so she can focus in school and activities.

Asperger's resources are harder to find. Right now, I'm trying to find an

optometrist who can coax my dd through an exam.

Hello Val, I just wanted to put in my two cents on the subject. My 9 year old

son also sees Dr. Harvey Reich. He is very patient and knows his stuff. He has

helped us get him on the right track with his meds and has helped us deal with

various tics.. I highly recommend him.
