Guest guest
He’s home Three hours into the party, he came home. I’m SO proud he made it as long as he did. He said someone was picking on him, but was SO tired and pretty much went straight to bed when we got home, that I didn’t push for too much info tonight. Will find out more tomorrow – but we all know that someone picking on him was just “the glass that made his tray topple†hehe (LOVE that analogy!!) Will update more tomorrow when I find out the whole story, but just thought I’d update you all =)
Guest guest
As I was laying the boys down, I was thinking about him, and wondering how it was going. I think he probably hit the best time of the party--after a bit, you know they all get tired. lol So good for him that he made it 3 hours and then knew when he was ready to come home. It sounds like a pretty good success. Purrs & Kisses, Kristal of Digi Kitty The Kitty who loves Digi! Designer for the VDBC "More" Team - you can see my designs HERE!!! Guest guest
First, it is GREAT that he went and lasted 3 hours! Wow! And, then, knew when he had enough and called to come home. It is sad to hear that someone was picking on him....but at least he told you and didn't seem to bothered by it (or maybe he was too tired). My son would not have told me that. He would have been very angry and exploded at home. Guest guest
My more NT child (okay she has mild sensory issues, mild anxiety and mild ocd but has much better social skills and is much higher functioning than her brother) went to a sleepover party a couple of weeks ago and called a few hours into the party. She was crying and she said, " I can't sleep and everything is just getting too out of hand. " The other kids were being really rough. They weren't being mean, just kind of wild and jumping around. I really feel like being able to understand one's own limits with these things is HUGE. Many people get to adulthood without knowing their own limits. I felt really proud of Rayleigh for being able to stand up for herself. The birthday girl was quite sad as were the other friends. They didn't want Rayleigh to leave so they suffered the natural consequences of being too rough. It really was a great situation. This particular friend does tend to be too rough sometimes. She can't really help it. She has her own issues, but the best way for her to LEARN it is if her friends provide some consequences rather than adults. A little while later we invited this same girl to swim with us and she was GREAT. She was so proud of herself for not driving crazy. Sometimes she really does aggravate him almost to the point where he wants to physically lash out. This is rare for now. I didn't see any of this with the girl when we went swimming. It was perfect. > > > From: O'Brien <nicole.obrien@...> > Subject: ( ) 's Sleepover - he's home > > Date: Friday, June 4, 2010, 10:04 PM > > >  > > > > > > He’s home >  > Three hours into the party, he came home.
