EPA Ombudsman Office Comes To Investigate

On Friday, February 1st, 2002, Mr. , Ombudsman, and his chief

investigator, Mr. , Chief Investigator, of the Environmental Protection

Agency, will come to New York City for a press conference. This will take

place at 3:30 PM at 315 Broadway Suite 200. " They are coming to listen to

the people of New York " about the safety and health of downtown residents

and workers with regards to the World Trade Center collapse. They have

begun an investigation of the handling of the environmental crisis which is

affecting so many. The Ombudsman office has been involved with many

superfund investigations including that of Love Canal. {Please see attached

bio.}

Hosting the press conference is the New York Environmental Law and Justice

Project which has played a key role in gathering and disseminating data and

information. We will be joined by several organizations including the

Center For Biology of Natural Systems, NY Committee on Occupational Safety

and Health, ACTS, NYPD Sergeant Benevolent Association, etc. as well as

researchers, scientists, tenant organizations, and representative from

Congressman Nadler's office & State Senator .
