Guest guest
There is a 'mood-Bell Learning Center in San Fran., the specialize in one-to-one tutoring and small group... You could call them for a referral, or recommendation for both your inquiries. They are headquartered in San Louis Obispo. University Psychological Associates in Sacramento does Psycho evals and therapy for AD/HD and learning disabilities... they could be a good start for your referrals. Other places that were recommended for testing were the M.I.N.D. institue in , U.C.S.F. Lagley Porter Psychiatric Institure and Oakland Children's hospital. This was 5 years ago though, so the info may be out of date. These places are often heavily booked, so it is good to tell them you will take a cancelled appointment (if you can.) We got in fairly quickly doing that. Willa
Guest guest
Who is good at Stanford to see? We need local resources surrounding Central California. I thought Oakland Children's had an autism clinic. Does anyone know of specific names of clinics or doctors in Fresno, Stanford, Santa Barbara, or Ventura County/Oxnard area? We are trying to expand our referral list from this area... Thanks! We used their services for a summer before he started a head start program and they worked wonders with his articulation, so we are putting him into their building blocks program one day a week They work on social and speech issues in small age appropriate groups ….8 kids with two instructors. I think it is a 1 ½ or 2 hours session and the cost is $90 month The outfit is called SPEECH THERAPY ASSOSCIATES Hope this helps Teri From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Teri Turrentine Sent: Sunday, December 27, 2009 11:16 AM To: Subject: RE: ( ) Aspergers Experts and Support Groups in the Bay Area Did you get any feedback on this. Guest guest
I did not get any feedback. How is the MIND Institute at ? Everyone here, in San Obispo says they have heard the MIND Institute is wonderful, but, of course, no one has ventured that far north to find out.... Guest guest
My grandson was assessed there and as far as I know they were wonderful. However, they are apparently not available for follow up or services I will check with my daughter on it as she may have more input From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Debra Balke Sent: Tuesday, December 29, 2009 6:30 AM To: Subject: Re: ( ) Aspergers Experts and Support Groups in the Bay Area I did not get any feedback. Guest guest
Hi again….This was my daughter’s input on The mind Institute …….It is a great diagnosing facility. They have clinical trails if you qualify and plenty of education if you are seeking it as a medical professional, teacher and sometimes parent. Their Lecture Series is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about what is being discovered in the Autism Spectrum disorder research field. I would definitely suggest pushing to get in and get evaluated there. They are primarily a research facility.
