Gluten free, casein free....We have never done diet stuff, but Matt now has

severe pain issues, including gastrointestinal problems, so he is now eating a

GF diet. He doesn't want to eliminate dairy, but I think it's worth a try. He is

doing a LOT better w/out gluten! I see a HUGE difference after just a couple of

weeks. I have heard about these diets forever, but never really tried them. I

was dairy free myself during my nursing years, as my babies couldn't tolerate

it, even in breastmilk. :o Should have just quit it then for us all, argh.

My hubby did great -- private school K-12, top student, and then 2 degrees from

Stanford! His parents were NOT helpful -- mom was an enabling wife to an

alcoholic -- and they were much older, rural OK people (no education). His mom

is also an Aspie. I have no idea how he did it. :o He cannot figure out why

Matt is having trouble w/college, since HE did it.... :(

I haven't seen the Temple Grandin movie, but I met her a few years ago, and

she's speaking nearby in a few weeks again....I will go see her again. She is

amazing. :) I have told my son about her. See, we always told him he could do

anything he wanted, and now it's actually haunting us, because he really cannot.

:( He may have to set his sights a bit lower, instead.... :/

> My husband was just having the same worries about our daughter and I pointed

out to him that somehow he got to the point where he has a job and a family and

has made it. It was not easy for him. He did college twice, and the amazing

thing is that he had zero family support with his issues. He still has no

support from his family. Also, I was just watching the Temple Grandin movie on

HBO. That is really worth watching. As a parent and as a teacher I could really

connect with it. She had one teacher who made such a difference in her life.
