Guest guest
My husband also had acid reflux and digestive problems and this is all resolving on the GAPS diet. I think their might be a connection between Candida overgrowth and dry eye syndrome because I know once I went on GAPS the dry eye syndrome resolved. I also know that joint pain is due to inflammation in the body which often can happen with dietary sensitivities and digestive problems so I am hopeful that GAPS would resolve that issue as well.On Jan 13, 2011, at 10:56 AM, dccountryurbanite wrote: Hello, all, I'm new here, but a NT and GAPS veteran. Does anyone know of a connection between candida/gut dysbiosis with dry eye syndrome (from meibomian gland dysfunction), TMJ, auditory sensitivity, and joint pain? This describes my husband. As he also has acid reflux, some digestive problems, and lots of skin problems (dandruff, folliculitis, frequent itching), I am suspecting that the gut may be at the root of these other problems. But I haven't found anything specific in research to back this up. Does anyone have any sources I could check out or experiences to share? Thanks! Guest guest
I am also a TMJ sufferer. I clinch at night. Does he? My TMJ pain (headache) has gone away since starting Intro diet in Nov. But, before you get too excited I will say that sometime in Nov I started humidifying the house also. So, now I am wondering if all of the headaches that I have been associating with TMJ were actually from dry sinuses. If they were TMJ headaches and have subsided, my theory (notice it's a theory) is that clinching at night came as a result of reflux. Which I also had. Wish I knew for sure which one was the culprit. Will find out in the spring. No dry eyes here, opposite watery, itchy eyes, gone since intro diet. Hope some of this may help, Jan > > Hello, all, > > I'm new here, but a NT and GAPS veteran. Guest guest
, thank you for sharing your experience. That is encouraging! And we need all the encouragement we can get right now. Joan, he is actually under the care of a naturopath already. She didn't know precisely what is at the root of it, but is trying some different things. She suspects gut issues may be at the root. While she is supportive of GAPS, she is having him do this lengthy regimen involving grapefruit seed extract, propolis extract, l-glutamine, probiotics, and digestive enzymes. So now we are adding GAPS to this for him. I don't know about you, but it is near imposible to find a naturopath who is NT and GAPS accomodating... So we are just doing the best we can to work with what we've got. Better go make some more soup and yogurt. Stage 1 is the pits. > > > I've been there.....a naturopath would be your best bet. > www.naturopathic.org > I have literature and links, but don't have access to them this minute. > Joan > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I'm new here, but a NT and GAPS veteran. Guest guest
Based on what the naturopath is prescribing for supplements it seems she suspects yeast overgrowth and a leaky gut. GAPS will definitely help. I also gave my son L-glutamine and that was helpful for healing the gut.On Jan 15, 2011, at 9:28 AM, dccountryurbanite wrote: , thank you for sharing your experience.
