Guest guest
yes, but only so far. cut things up very small if possible. linda rn Chew Chew Need help from anyone out there. My son does not chew his food well at all! I have had him to see an OT for this and we have done many oral programs for him to get him to chew better. It has helped a little. Would the enzymes help digest the " partially " chewed food in his stomach? IF they could... would he need a bigger dose of enzymes than the recommended 2 capsules of Trienza? thanks
Guest guest
Hi , how old is your son? I have the same problem with my 3 y.o. son, he never chews his food. We had lots of OT before he was 3, and now I am trying to start another program with my health insurance for some OT sessions for feeding. I am just desperate, I still have to cut everything in little pieces, make sure everything is very soft and feed him with spoon (never took finger foods). I give him Trienza too, two capsules a day (half with each meal). I think it helps. Because of this feeding problem, he was always very low weight and before giving him enzymes I think it was because he was not absorbing all the nutrients properly due to the lack of chewing foods. He is swalowing everything without chewing. Joana > > Need help from anyone out there. My son does not chew his food well at > all! Guest guest
Hello My son is 5. When he had his tonsils and adnoids removed ( he had sleep apnea and the dr's thought it was causing him to have seizures) he developed this gag & vomit reflex very BADly afterwards. Since that time he still to this day doe snot chew his food well. At times I think that the space ( where his tonsils used to be) is so large that he swallows things whole and does not realize it. We have tried cutting things smaller but all that seems to do is make NOT chew his food and all and swallow it whole. so for now I am hoping the enzymes will help him digest the food better >

Possibly. Try 2 capsules for a few days, then try 3. See if the 3 works better than the 2. Dana
