Guest guest
We told ours when she was 8. We read the book Can I tell you about Aspergers to her. We waited a year when we thought she would understand more. We just told her everyone is different and its ok, and some people think differently. We tell her she has a brain like Daddy, so she feels pretty darn special. its never had a negative impact on her it makes her realize theirs a reason why she feels different, theres other kids out there like her and so she dosen't feel like the only one. I think it also depends on the kid. On May 28, 2010, at 5:18 AM, kerri wrote: I would like to hear responses to this as well, for we have an 8 year old daughter who was diagnosed last month. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change things... they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.” - Steve Jobs
