Guest guest
Hi! We live on the East Coast and experienced a snow day yesterday. Needless to say, it really increased my son's anxiety. Previously, we have been making major headway on stopping the explosions. However, yesterday we had 4! (3 of which were during the day when I had him by myself) Our biggest question is what to do with our son is in these rages to stop them quickly. He is 9 and recently his violence has really stepped up when he gets out of control. (Otherwise, he can be a sweet little boy) When he is in a rage it is almost as if he is a different person. He does not remember much of what went on. He tries to hurt us and will throw things at us. We have resorted to pinning him down until he (as we call it) 'breaks' and asks us to leave the room. (I worry that soon he will be too big for me to do this) Until that point of breaking, the violence will continue. Any recommendations would be welcome. We know we need to cut them off before they happen but we are looking for advise of what to do mid-crisis. Thank you so much!
