Guest guest
My now 13 month old just had his first IFSP meeting with early intervention in our state. Obviously they can't diagnose autism yet, but he has a severe speech delay, some repetitive behaviors, some problems interacting with people, poor eye contact and doesn't regularly respond to his name. He tested very high in fine motor skills and problem solving skills. His speech is at a four month old level. And he has some definite sensory problems. Right now he just is diagnosed as developmentally delayed, but we found out he will be receiving DIR-floortime therapy twice a week for 75 minute sessions, and they will be training us to do it at home. Our developmental therapist is very much on the same page as us in that given the family history, we want to be as aggressive as possible with therapy even if he doesn't have a diagnosis yet. Basically they will be treating it as they would if he had autism even though we don't know as of yet. While I am still worried about possible autism, I am very grateful as all of his therapies will be free. Thanx for the support!
Guest guest
Sure, I plan to keep updating on our story. I have read a lot about Dr. Greenspan's methods and I am really excited that we will have the opportunity to use them with our son! > > > > My now 13 month old just had his first IFSP meeting with early intervention in our state.
