Guest guest
Hi everyone...I am so excited. My son is now Proficient in Reading on the PSSA tests. Since 3rd grade he has been behind in reading by about 2 years. I requested he get in the Reading Program and this started in 5th grade (late). He then got a horrible teacher in 6th grade and she recommended he not continue. He was re-tested in 7th and was put back in....he just finished 8th grade and he is Proficient and just below reaching Advanced. He finished the highest in his class. I am so proud for a change and it feels so good. He won the prize of a $50.00 gift certificate from his teacher. Wow! I now know how good it feels to be so proud ... for a change. And, just so everyone knows...I will be working with an autistic girl in school in the fall. She will be in the intermediate school and this is a new assignment for me. I went to a 2 day training ....but to tell you the truth...I knew everything already. So, I may be picking some of your brains for help. I just hope I can deal with it as my son who is 14 has Asperger's....so I will be surrounded 24/7. LOL. I hope I can help and make a difference for this child. jan
