Does anyone have experience with drinking

(socially, not heavily) and alcohol? Please advise.

Dr. Gluck is a childhood friend of Dr. Bihari. He took

up the torch and started the web site along with his son . Dr. Gluck

is very much involved (along with Sunny) in setting the conferences for LDN and

for keeping in touch with the researchers and doctors involved with LDN.

You can say he is the mortar that keeps everything together on the LDN

front.

Hello. Just out of curiosity, who is Dr.Gluck? Is he the moderator or

is Gluck a acronym for something? I know that may sound crazy but

this is a acronym crazy site. LOL! Please people do a lot of LOL

because we all need it!

Absolutely you can have a drink of alcohol. My Husband has been on LDN

for seven years and enjoys an occasional drink with friends every week

or so. Not always a good idea to mix meds with drinking, but, it's

important to have some fun, too. Of course you never, ever drive while

even when having just one drink.

Best Wishes, Donna

In my experience, alcohol is not off limits with LDN. I've been on LDN a year

and a half and I've not changed my alcohol intake. I generally drink a couple

glasses of wine a day and if out with friends I've had as much as 5 drinks.

Never had a problem. I think if you woke up nauseated and throwing up it's

garden-variety hangover and nothing to do with LDN.

Nope, not a hangover, it was only 1 drink and this was very different. I may have it figured out though, I had eaten a hamburger with that margarita and I commented to my husband that it had a "different" taste. We both gave it the smell test and thought it smelled ok. I thought maybe it's just the sauce the cook used and ate it. Hubby had a piece of chicken and had no problems. I wonder if the burger was bad and caused me to get sick because the burger didn't digest and all came up? During the night I wondered if I was getting the flu or something because it was coming out both ends and my stomach was hard as a rock, very painful. I have to wonder if anyone else got sick from eating the burgers, no way of knowing now.I had a glass of wine with dinner, my sons birthday and we threw a bbq. I drank the glass several hours prior to taking the LDN last night and had no issues at all.<<Posted by: "marlaprendergast" kws11@... marlaprendergastSun Jul 5, 2009 8:41 pm (PDT)In my experience, alcohol is not off limits with LDN. Hi Kim,

My husband has been on LDN for over 4.5 years and he has one to two beers nightly. He has never had a problem mixing the two, and he has not progressed in his disease (MS).

I hope that helps.

I've been on LDN over 5 years and although I've never been a big

drinker, over that time I've often had a few glasses of red wine or beer

and never had a problem.

Some people can drink with it and some cant. My husband (on 4.5 mg for five

years) drinks a glass of white wine every night with dinner. Once last year he

drank about two and a half glasses of red while out for dinner and got really

sick in the middle of the night. He had eaten a lot of rich food too. Since

then he wont drink red wine but last night we were out for dinner and he had

about two and a half glasses of white (he`s a slow learner!) and was OK in the

night but felt somewhat unwell all day today.

Not sure what the moral of this story is but he will only ever drink one glass

of wine each night from now on, not worth the extra glass to feel so sick the

following day BUT it hasnt made the LDN ineffective as he`s had no disease

progression for five years.

Everything in moderation I guess and everyone is different - learn to know your

limits.
