Guest guest
so true (lol) but in fact isn't that what happens to the rest of us - our brain tells us - but we don't think in that light. because children with aspergers have difficulty in working these things out - they tell the truth as they see it. jennifer From: Gladys <glad1@...>Subject: ( ) Re: Lying-"My brain told me" Received: Friday, 12 March, 2010, 4:06 AM Thank you for posting these comments! My son says, "My brain told me," or "I just knew it in my heart/head" all the time. He actually has like a 6th sense (makes predictions of future events, has insights about things that are going to happen, etc.), and he says the same type of things, "I just knew it," "My brain told me," "Or I saw it in my head." So interesting!Gladys> >> > I haven't really much to add to the whole lying, apart from my son is 7 and tries, but it is like listening to a four yr old, you can tell a mile off.> >  > > I was more interested in your phrase " I can't get my brain to remember"> > This is EXACTLY the way my son puts it, or if he comes out with an unusual fact or word and I ask where he has heard it he says my brain told me, its almost like his brain is a separate entity that is capable of deciding whether it is going to impart info or not. > >>
Guest guest
Do you think that this means our kids have to consciously check different parts of their brain when NT just unconsciously check? Whatever it is I find it endearing, especially when the right answer or fact has taken us all by surprise and he is soo chuffed with himself. Funny that I'm in a different country and they use the exact same words. Guest guest
Its funny isn't it, my son is 6 and for as long as I can remember he has said things like that. I wonder if anyone has studied that. From: Gladys <glad1@...>Subject: ( ) Re: Lying-"My brain told me" Date: Thursday, 11 March, 2010, 17:06 Thank you for posting these comments! Guest guest
Its my sons birthday on Wed, I asked him if there was anything special he wanted, he put his hands on his head and said come on brain, think, THINK. I didn't mean to stress him out! lol From: Laurel <laurel8690@...>Subject: ( ) Re: Lying-"My brain told me" Date: Friday, 12 March, 2010, 14:53 How funny! When my son can't concentrate on homework, it's "my brain won't let me concentrate" . Maybe there is something to this treating the brain as a separate entity!> > >> > > I haven't really much to add to the whole lying, apart from my son is 7 and tries, but it is like listening to a four yr old, you can tell a mile off.> > >  > > > I was more interested in your phrase " I can't get my brain to remember"> > > This is EXACTLY the way my son puts it, or if he comes out with an unusual fact or word and I ask where he has heard it he says my brain told me, its almost like his brain is a separate entity that is capable of deciding whether it is going to impart info or not. > > >> >>
