I haven't had any problems w/this list and getting

emails. I agree in general is going downhill.

I've heard that they may do away with the Clubs

and convert them all to groups. That would

stink!

I say if you can find us a better deal - go for it!!

While I have never had any problems with the listserve and ,

I know of many that indicate they have problems. Some of the problems

might actually be on the part of the email provider. Everyone I know

with AOL has had continuous problems. I could go either way but so

do what the majority of the group want.

I haven't had any problems with . As a matter of fact I head another

group on it. With my experiences of University systems, I would think it

would be better to stay where it is. But where ever it goes, this is a

great group and I would like to stay a part of it.

EVERYONE

Hello!

I rarely post asking for everyone's reply (including lurkers) but this is

one of those times. Please reply, either through the list or privately.

Some people have expierenced problems with our list server. Some

posts have not been recieved by some members and some members have had

trouble posting. In the attempt to solve these problems I have requested

space on the list server from my University (University at Buffalo). There

are a few pros and cons to this:

Pros:

*Your information (e-mail address and name) as a member will not be

accessable on the internet.

*You will not have the problems listed above (lost posts, etc), because the

system is a better one and faster!

*You will still have the options of digest, nomail, or recieve as posted

*We will not be supporting (which, let's face it, isn't all that

family friendly)

Cons:

*I don't think that I can keep the listserv after I leave UB (which maybe

at least 2 years from now), unless I can get a professor to serve as the

" list owner " on file.

*Getting listserv information (setting digest, nomail, etc) is a bit more

technical with set commands -- as a member you will recieve a list of these

commands, and of course I will be here to help.

*We will not have the space on to post pictures (although I can

always set up a password protected album/web site somewhere else)

So, what do you all think? Should we make the move?

Cheers!

Which University and which type of system did you experience problems

with?? I have been on a few lists with the University at Buffalo system and

they were great, run by the L-Soft system.

Since has been making so many changes and is trying to merge

Groups with Clubs... I'm thinking that we will experience a lot more

technical issues with . Also, I really lost a lot of respect for

when they allowed a porn ad banner on their site! I was

thinking we better get out while we're still in one piece! LOL But I don't

want to run off to a place with more problems.

Cheers!

This system would be a LISTSERV® V1.8d on a SUN® Microsystems Ultra 2

Workstation Model 1170 under SunOS Release 5.6. It's pretty high-tech...

Sara.

I haven't had any trouble with , but I don't see any reason NOT to switch if other people have been experiencing them. Your access through UB sounds great. There are my 2 cents worth!

All seems to be working well with my computer, but I am open to whatever changes are made, as long as we are all still together and able to communicate and you send instructions about what we need to do when the change is made.

DH graduated from an on-line Masters Program. They were constantly having

problems. Though towards the end it was getting better, or everyone had

just figured it out by that time.

See what everyone else thinks. I may just be prejudiced.

Oh, this is way different than an online education program. This is a part

of the computer science department of UB (part of the State University of

New York) and has had many many years of experience (way before )!!

Hi guys is it for my birthday or another Anne? If it is mine, thanks so very much!! but it is on December 14th not 11/1 ! Oh Oh flu shot tomorrow, wish me luck I hate getting it, the alternative is far worse though, they are giving pneumonia shots , I got this 8 years ago, I guess I do not need another of those Today was awful,my stomach is acting up badly, I still think there is some kind of adhesion on the left side, if only the doctor would LOOK and not just prescribe Zantac which does not help at all. The pain is crippling sometimes, I have to sit down with it and then it leaves,, feels like my side is being torn in two. just between the stomach and the kidney on the left side, it is a bit worrisome since the left kidney was damaged years ago with a bad infection. One of my favorite things about marijuana was the munchies :) I know you

were joking, but it is not an option for me these days.....12 years clean

and sober. Don't worry though, you did not offend me, it was kinda cute to

me :)

everyone

Please forgive me if I forget you.....I am on medication to be able to sit

up, and I feel kinda weird...I do just want to let a few people know that I

have seen that they are having problems, and let them know I am thinking of

them. Well....I'm always thinking about all of you, but there are a few

people I've been worried about......

: Don had Hodgkin's lymphoma, and I had to force him to eat too.

Sounds a little cruel, but he is a skinny guy, and can't afford to lose any

weight. I hope your husband is drinking the ensure. Don says holding his

throat helped, might work for your sweetie. Thank goodness the end is

nearing on his treatment.

Jessi: Heard anything from your docs yet? How is school going? Keeping

your chin up?

Kristy: Man, you sure have had it rough lately. All I can really say is

I'm so sorry, and I sure hope things get better soon.

Helen: How are you feeling now? No need to apologize! You do quite a lot

around here, and taking a break is necessary! Thank you for all you do.

Xiomi: I see you are getting second opinions....are you planning to come to

the US for one? How have you been doing?

Lurkers: can you let us know you are ok?

Moderators: Thank you for pitching in and giving your all these last few

weeks. I really appreciate everything you do. Everyone...I think applause

is in order!

Anne: Happy upcoming birthday!

Marsha: You deserve mother of the year award.....remember to take time for

yourself too!

Denisa: Wow. What can I say? I know how scary it is to have mystery

problems and feel blown off. Keep trying...and I hope you can eat better.

Can we say, cannabis? ;)

Ling: staying away from killer exams? ;) how are you doing?

Pegasus: How's the new puter? Do you run windows? what version? I just

got XP, and I think it is kinda cool!

: good to see you! I'm so sorry for your friend's loss. Losing

someone so young is heartbreaking. I hope you are in good spirits.

If I left anyone out, I'm truly sorry, this is just off the top of my head.

Hope everyone has a great weekend, and had a great Halloween! I know I am

supposed to be on bed rest, but I just can't stay down all day. My head is

pounding, but I had to get out of that stuffy room! I'll be here to check

on you all as usual!

congrats on the 12 years....that is quite a great accomplishment. Maybe you

Just an idea. I sure hope you find a way to eat, even with no appetite.

Hi ,

Thank God that you still have your sense of humor.

I'll be getting a second opinion from the doc of Colombia

may be next week.

I've send my medical records by fax, and now I'm waiting for

an answer.

Yes, they are working on my case to see what they can do for me.

I can imagine that you can't stay in bed for long. I'm normally

a very active person, but the last few days I've been procastinating

things and resting a lot.

I'm a bit worried because after the diarrhea on Monday, I didn't have

a bowel movement. It's now four days yet.

I think that I will go back to the doc here next Monday to hear what he

has to

say about this.

Thanks a lot for understanding and support,

Tight hugs,

Xiomi,

I might also suggest that you fax your records to Dr.

Cook here in the U.S. just for an opinion purpose even though

you aren't able to travel here to the U.S. He's quite

knowledgeable about endo and he can also tell you what might be

able to get done for you and at the same time ask him if he

knows of a dr close to you that can help you. By doing two

things at once you can get additional information. As I'm

finding out from having talked to other women who live in other

parts of the world some of them will still get an opinion from

the drs here and they sometimes give them names of drs in their

country that have come here to the U.S. or even in to Europe to

learn the techniques for helping with endo.

I hope that this helps you out.

Hoping to be a nurse soon but for now just a Medical Secretary who does a lot of

learning from reading on the Net, books, my dr(s), as well as sharing my own

personal experiences.
