Guest guest
Ann, congrats! enjoy!!!!!! Patty [ ] Everyone Just wanted to let everyone know that I got very good results from my blood work yesterday. All liver counts were normal. I'm still on 50mg of immuran but my doctor was very pleased. The only problem I'm having is chronic inflammation of my stomach. Right now I'm taking more stuff for that than anything else. Dr. thinks its probably from the immuran but she doesn't want to take me off of it yet. So I guess I'll just have to stay with the bland diet and all the meds. Maybe I could join Bert with her diet. Hope everyone is doing well and I'll keep you all in my prayers. Ann CT

Guest guest
Hi Judy I'm thinking, hopefully can comeup with some ideas by tommorow, that's just nuts I never heard of such a mess. Love,Teri website for legal details, from myself......I didn't open it either....It sounded fishy and I knew I had not sent it.......It would have really upset me if my friends had gotten a virus from that with my name as the sender.......there are some stupid people in this world that get kicks out of such...... Guys I am having some real problems....I hear you all talk about your doctors and such and doctors for me has been a nightmare......when I was in the hospital a couple of weeks ago, I was admitted through the ER and Dr Kipfer, my gastroenterologist took care of me......that is the only way he will care for me because he is no longer seeing patients in his office.....My primary doctor will take care of everything for me except the hepatitis c......she insists I be cared for by a specialist.....the specialist in their group () is Dr Kipfer.....other than that, it means driving 260 miles to St Louis and I cannot make those frequent trips that far......so here I sit still sick and looking at my peg treatment and can't start it because I have no doctor that will care for the hepatitis......I called every family doctor in my city and asked would they care for a hepatitis c patient on treatment and work with a specialist.....they all say no....this is out of their realm of expertise.....the care would have to come from a specialist.....in other words they won't do anything to cooperate with a specialist.....I saw an internist from a different hospital yesterday and he wouldn't do it....he said I know a little about hepatitis c but not enough to care for you on treatment. my primary doctor said today.....he is an internist and he doesn't feel comfortable doing it, why should I when I am only a family doctor? I have gone through a list of doctors that I got from the hepatitis hot line....each says they can't take me without a referal from my primary doctor....she won't refer me because part of them are out of her group....the other doctors in the same group that works with Dr Kipfer says I must have a primary doctor to work with them.......I have never heard of such a mess......What are these doctors thinking? What I am finding is a specialist will only see you if you are referred from your primary doctor.......the specialist are expecting the family doctor to write prescriptions, do the blood draws and assess for any side effects from the medication and consult with them if something goes wrong....all the family doctors in our area are saying, no.....they aren't qualified...... I need help....I don't know what to do now......even the Be in Charge nurse doesn't have an answer.....she says she has never heard of such and she told me today, I need to see a doctor today if I have to go to urgent care.....I am so sick and trying to figure this out and calling every doctor I can find....all of this makes it worse.......I would appreciate any ideas from anyone.....love....judy
Guest guest
Judy, I empathize with the ridiculous run-around you are getting. Have you tried calling your insurance company directly and explain that there is not a specialist in your group/area that can, or is willing, to treat you? Most insurance policies will cover out-of-network charges if there is not something equal within the network. You will likely have to get pre-authorization to do so, but it would be worth it. Also, if your insurance company says no, don't settle there. Go to the next level in the company and ask again, or file an appeal. I am almost sure they would cover you under those circumstances, they may just try to make it inconvenient for you to get the coverage you should, and can, have. Hope this helps, website for legal details, from myself......I didn't open it either....It sounded fishy and I knew I had not sent it.......It would have really upset me if my friends had gotten a virus from that with my name as the sender.......there are some stupid people in this world that get kicks out of such...... Guest guest
> Hi ! With CPAP at first you are a little embarrassed by the hog snout you have to wear but soon feel so much better you do not care! Some people like sounds all the time they are sleeping so this is just one of those sounds. I did laugh at first. Now I am having such good luck with it I don't care how I sound or look! Napping with it is just great, too. OR Sharon BTW how many of us liver people also have CPAPS!
Guest guest
Sharon, It is a little funny looking at first. And of course the first thing I did was put it on for my family and give them the old line " Luke, I am your father " from star wars, because that is what I sound like if I try to talk with the thing on - Darth Vader. It is nice once you adapt though. When I got my sleep study and they showed me that contraption I laughed and said 'very sexy'. He then informed me I may want to get that part of my evening out of the way before I put it on. And we laughed. I told him it looked like a pair of thong under on your head, so he suggested I design a knew more appealing and sexy looking one, and maybe he and I could make a fortune on them, and then he could retire earlier. My husband calls me 'Snuffleuppagus' when I have it on. Guess he's seen too much Sesame Street. Love, Carole K
Guest guest
Carole! What a deal! I hope you are doing fine with it. Think about hubby and I both having one! We do make plans but sometimes have to back out of the CPAP! Or Sharon I hope you meant that for me!! My hubby thought your nickname is great! I told him not to get to smart. >

Guest guest
Dear Jan, We are thinking and praying for you while you are shouldering your burdens... perhaps you have a close friend with whom you can share the worries... maybe even the social worker at the hospital... they are great listeners and fixers... they can help you during this difficult time. Guest guest
Hi everyone....Im a very articulate woman (at least I used to be, my career was law) but Im lost for words. The past few days especially have been very very difficult for me, not only caring for my husband, but Im in the middle of a pain attack & had another transient stroke, 2 days after Ian came out of hospital. I dont want sympathy and have never sought it from any one....but this is just too much now for me I just cant stop crying but have to because Ive got responsibilities other than myself, this sort of thing is not good, not good at all. Love all of you whatever your views, race, colour & religion Jan Your post Persarverance got the snail to the Ark. Spurgeon Bert dear, I think you need to relax again. Are you sating your meds as you are supposed to.....are you taking your antidepressents??? Also, are you using your on line support group for depression. I know you have a lot to deal with....for which I am sorry. BUT, dear, you can NOT lash out at anyone in the group , just because , you don't like their opinion. I hope to see you post an apology to all. As for myself I take Q10 and SAMe along with B complex, multi antioxidents. Plus I drink a glass of warm water with lemon juice in the morning to detox my body. I am also going to massage therapy.....and detoxing with them by means of lymphatic drainage....thru massage. I am now going to add castor oil on a piece of unbleached , white flannel. soaked with the oil....wrap with plastic wrap to to prevent mess. This is all along with my normal medications, Actigall, propranolol., aldactone, prilosec, hydroxyzine, and 1600 of calcium, a B complex, multi antioxident, Epivir, and for my other illnress, Dystonia, apam in the evening. And, I bet I forgot to list one or two. : )) Joanne
Guest guest
Jan, You sound absolutely overwhelmed. But why make yourself stop crying? I look at it at times as a good emotional cleansing. It doesn't do much for prettying up the eyes, but hey, what the heck. Isn't that why God created cucumbers? I am afraid I have missed what is going on with your husband, is he going to be o.k.? It has to be difficult to care for a spouse when you are struggling with your own health. Do you have any relatives to help out? I hope you are feeling better soon. In the mean time, go take a hot bath, and just let those teardrops flow in the privacy of the tub. Then wash them away, and get some good rest. You have gotten this far, so you are a strong woman. Some times we just need some one else to remind us. Love, Carole K

Guest guest
Jan, You have just said a million there. Everyone now needs to lighten up a bit. We just ALL need to remember that what is typed here can some times come across stronger than it was ever meant to be. Guest guest
Jan, Certain meds can give you a false positive on a urine test. If you're pregnant then I think I want to be your agent. Boy can we make some money. Another possibility is that they mixed up the urine specimens. That's scary for the poor person who is pregnant and doesn't know it. Why would your doctor run a pregnancy test on you? I bet the specimens got mixed up. .

Guest guest
Its the only possible answer I know..... Ive experienced mixed up test results before but it thankfully doesnt happen very often & fortunately Im still very much on the ball to pick up on the errors. Guest guest
WELLLLLLL Jan....was this recently? I have actually READ where a lady had a hysterectomy (although apparently her ovaries were still there) who got pregnant. Somehow, the placenta attached itself to the abdominal wall and she delivered a child. You know......you COULD be in the Guiness book of records!!! How long ago did this all happen????? Debby [ ] everyone Hi Debby (if my memory's correct...I deleted posts)....Funny thing being taken for pregnant..... I actually had a ring from my GP's nurse asking me to come in, I said what for, she said for a prenatal check......I couldnt answer her and put the phone down in her ear. I was laughing so hysterically, I told Ian who went so white,....then I phoned her back, told her to look at my records to show that I'd underwent hysterectomy, ovaries removed etc a few years back ! The nurse phoned back and said 'but you're urine sample shows you're pregnant". Anyone got any answers? Love Jan
