Guest guest
----- Original Message ----- From: samadamfamily i was wondering if your only eating a couple of foods like eggs and chicken soup etc. on the intro diet can you become allergic to these things if your eating too much? ====>I think this is an excellent ? and I have wondered about this as we are ramping up on the eggs and bananas. I wish I had an answer to this but I have only the same ? as you. i ask this because my allergist told me to rotate foods and not to eat allot of eggs because you can become allergic to those things if you have a leaky gut. is there any truth to this?thankssam
Guest guest
This happened to us because our gut was so leaky that we quickly picked up new food sensitivities. We had to stick to a strict 4 day rotation of foods to keep this from happening, which of course means that we had to stretch our diet to include foods we weren't digesting well which really set us up for failure. We finally started using digestive enzymes from Houston to end that cycle. With the enzymes helping us we can eat the same foods every day (even eggs which had previously caused flares) with no issues whatsoever. It has allowed us to eat only well tolerated foods continuously with no new developments of sensitivities. Guest guest
I should clarify, we didn't pick up new sensitivities on the intro (too short of a time period to cause us any trouble since you only eat that way for a few days), but our issue was afterwards when we were relying heavily on carrots still as our main source of carb. We had trouble introducing new foods (probably because we weren't doing enough yogurt/probiotics at that point) and so eating so much of the same foods day in and day out for weeks and weeks started to cause us the trouble. Guest guest
thank you for that, because this is what we're going through right now. we're only eating pears and carrots as our only source of carbs as well as carrot juice and apple cider or freshly juiced apples then the rest is either broth, meats and eggs. we aren't having any problems yet but i fear we could if we continued to eat like this for a while. we started scdophulis and s. bouladrii and we're having gas and constipation from that so i don't really know when to add in a new food. any advice? thanks sam scd1/1/08 > I should clarify, we didn't pick up new sensitivities on the intro > (too short of a time period to cause us any trouble since you only eat > that way for a few days), but our issue was afterwards when we were > relying heavily on carrots still as our main source of carb. Guest guest
This is a great discussion going on about food sensitivities and how often you eat them. I am so glad to hear that this was avoided by your family after introducing digestive enzymes. I had been using enzymes for over 3 years now. They were definitely one of the most helpful things I have done on my path to healing. They really help with gas and bloating etc. Glad to know they will ward off sensitivities too. My apologies to hogging the board with our problems and my deep appreciation for all the great comments/posts while we are trying to work through this. Our little one is a great trooper, never complains or whines although I doubt she can feel good with all this going on. Thanks, again, I had been usingenzymes for over 3 years now.
