Guest guest
Hi is a very lucky young man to have you in his camp!! Lynne Bankswww.americanadoptioncongress.orgSouth Dakota State Representative www.adoptionscams.netAsk me how to protect yourself from being scammed in adoption! [sPAM] ( ) Well our meeting was today Hi Everyone! We had our meeting today about the non-communication from the teacher and my displeasure about this entire school year. They tried to push it off on it being the fault of my grandson's case manager saying that they were under the impression that it was her job to keep us abreast of any problems in school. I informed them that I was under the impression that it was the TEACHERS job to do that. That we only see the case manager twice a month and every time we do she is filled with news of Dillon's bad behavior over the prior two weeks. I told them that I felt that they were doing us, Dillon, and themselves an great disservice because how is home and school supposed to work together if there is no communication. They were pushing the blame aside and saying there were very few problems until I let them know the magnitude of what has been suggested to us. His psychiatrist and counselor, due to the reports that they're getting from the case manager, has suggested putting Dillon into the Kings Daughter school for Autism here in TN. So if the problems with him in nonexistant, why then do they (the counselors) think that this is a good move for him based on what the school is telling the case manager? They can't have it both ways. He can't be a problem student to his case manager and a dream student to us, the grandparents. NOW they understand! I also reminded the principal and the vice principal that Dillon has a myriad of problems, not just Aspergers. This is something that they have known about BEFORE he was even registered for school there. We went in and spoke with them about his problems and even brought them files. He has a genetic condition that has to be monitored daily, he has RAD, he has SEVERE OCD that can be debilitating not only to him but to the ones around him. He has high anxiety as well. He is a victim of child abuse and of sexual abuse and that he has been through hell and back. We, as his grandparents, not only asked, but demanded that we have constant communication with the school and it will NOT be pushed aside ever again. They took notice! We will be meeting with a team on July 23rd, before school starts to get things implemented for Dillon for the next school year. The school year starts on August 8th, I believe. I'm not completely satisfied with the meeting but I'm satisfied enough to do all my homework between now and July 23 so that I can request what we believe is necessary to have a very productive school year next year. And yes, an FBA is on the top of my list! Thanks for all the support everyone. All your encouragement really ramped me up to go into this meeting with a cool head and all the facts in front of me!
