Guest guest
Melani, I have some of the same problems with my dd wrap-around program. Almost every time I call I get his voice mail. I will leave only one message a day for him to get back to me and let him know that if I don't hear from him I will call again the next day. This usually works. Also after I leave the first initial message, I will keep calling through out the day. If I get his voice mail, I just hangup. My daughter had a re-evaluation for services in August and I just finally got a copy of her eval on Friday. I had to keep calling him to get a copy. Your supposed to get a copy within 30 days. One of the times I called I got the "oh I mailed it, you didn't get it, I'll send you another copy".From: iamgr8ful <iamgr8ful@...>Subject: ( ) Help - can't get documentation Date: Monday, November 15, 2010, 2:40 PM Our son has been seeing a Neuropsychologist for group sessions, and occasionally individual appts, for over one year. Initially, our son was not sure he wanted to be 'formally diagnosed' with Asperger's as he felt he would be labeled pr pitied. This past August we asked this Doctor to please complete whatever else was needed to make a formal diagnosis. She indicated that she would need to meet with me one more time for some questions regarding my son's birth and early years, and then she could complete the report. I met with her as well as completing some type of standardized forms. It's mid November and we have yet to receive the formal diagnostic report! I have called at least 3 or 4 times, the first and the last 2 times rec'd no response. Does anyone have any idea how we can obtain this report from her? My son is wanting to declare his Asperger's at his college, as well as we are trying to obtain other services for him, and they all require a copy of the report - diagnosis. I am at a loss. btw, she was supposed to start the group sessions back up in Sept (they had been discontinued for Aug for vacation). Well, she has not started them yet.. which is sad, as the young people attending really felt like they had friends when they met with the others in the group. Thanks for any suggestions,Melani
Guest guest
, Thanks so much for your reply. I'm going to try your tactics starting today. :)What frustrates (angers) me is that my son really needs some concessions made for him to do his best in his college classes - now! Not to mention that we would like to file for any assistance we can get with his treatments and programs; but that is impossible without this very important paper. Yesterday I called around to other doctors in the area ... only a few even handle aspie clients and it will be months before he can be seen, let alone diagnosed all over again. There are more who handle " children " , but he is over 18. And the costs, yikes. I have printed out pages of resources for our state and gradually crossed nearly all of them out as calls revealed he was too old, too high functioning, required to have a coexisting mental illness, required to have filed with the state for assistance, and on and on! I guess I'm just venting now and should close this post. thanks again,MelaniOn Mon, Nov 15, 2010 at 4:00 PM, Ohmit <mohmit66@...> wrote: Melani, I have some of the same problems with my dd wrap-around program.
